Claude consulting
TFR Solutions helps CFOs and controllers put Claude to work on finance and accounting workflows, especially for teams running NetSuite. Every engagement starts with the AI Action Plan, a two-week fixed-fee assessment, and continues with a Claude Cowork rollout, a Claude and NetSuite AI Connector Service setup, or both. Read access comes before write access, and a person approves anything that posts.
We are a Los Angeles NetSuite and AI consulting firm with 40+ successful projects and 8+ years of NetSuite expertise. We are not affiliated with Anthropic and we do not resell Claude. Our job is to decide which finance workflows deserve Claude, connect it to the data those workflows need, and design the controls that let your auditors and your team trust what it produces.

30 minutes with a senior consultant. We will tell you honestly whether we can help, then follow up with a written scope.
Start Your AI Action PlanThe AI Action Plan is the only fixed price we publish. The two implementation packages are scoped from what the plan finds and quoted in writing before any work starts, so you approve a defined scope rather than an open hourly meter.

This page is for finance leaders who have already decided AI is worth a serious look and now need it done properly. Typically that is a CFO or controller at a growing or mid-market company, often running NetSuite, with a team that is stretched at close and a board or owner asking what the plan for AI is.
You probably recognise one of three situations. People on your team are already using Claude or another assistant on their own, with no shared rules about what data goes in. Or someone bought licences, a few enthusiasts use them well, and everyone else has stopped. Or nothing has started because nobody can say which workflow to begin with or who would be accountable if it went wrong.
All three have the same fix: decide which work deserves Claude, give it the narrowest access that work needs, and put a named person at every point where an output becomes a posted number.
Claude is strong at the work between systems: reading a vendor statement and comparing it with the AP ledger, drafting variance commentary from numbers a person has already approved, summarising contract terms that affect revenue recognition, turning a messy close checklist into a clear status note, and answering questions about NetSuite data in plain language when it is connected with the right role.
It is the wrong tool for anything a rule can already do. If a workflow follows written logic every time, such as three-way matching within tolerance or a recurring journal, a NetSuite workflow, a saved search, or a SuiteScript does it more cheaply, more predictably, and with an easier audit trail. Using a language model there adds cost and variance without adding judgment.
The practical test we apply to every workflow: does it need judgment, is it worth real time or money, and is the process stable enough to describe? Work that needs judgment, matters, and is stable is where Claude earns its cost. Work that is rule-based belongs to automation. Work that changes every quarter needs a process fix first.
Finance teams do not need a philosophy of AI. They need controls that look like the controls they already run. Ours are simple and enforced through permissions rather than prompts, because an instruction in a prompt is a request and a permission is a control.
Most accounting teams that try Claude informally hit the same wall: each person writes their own prompts, results vary by who asked, and nobody can review the method behind an output. A Cowork rollout replaces that with shared projects and instructions that the controller has read.
We start with the two or three workflows the Action Plan ranked highest, usually close support, AP exception review, or management reporting commentary. For each one we write the instructions with the people who do the work, test them against a past period where the right answer is known, and document what a reviewer should check before relying on the output. Claude Cowork supports scheduled recurring tasks, documented in the Claude Help Center, which suits work such as a weekly open-items summary; we only schedule a task once its manual version has been reviewed.
The result is not a set of clever prompts. It is a small number of reviewed, repeatable routines with an owner, a reviewer, and a known failure mode. Our Claude Cowork for accounting teams guide covers the approach in more depth.
Oracle's NetSuite AI Connector Service lets an AI client such as Claude call tools that work with NetSuite data through the Model Context Protocol, and every tool runs with the permissions of the NetSuite role you connect with (Oracle: NetSuite AI Connector Service). Oracle also states that NetSuite cannot control how an external AI client handles data once it leaves NetSuite, so the choice of client and the data you expose are your governance decisions (Oracle: AI Connector Service FAQ).
That makes role design the real work. We enable the required features, install the MCP Standard Tools SuiteApp, build a purpose-built role per workflow family, and run a read-only pilot on one finance question your team asks every month. Anthropic's guidance on remote MCP connectors is in the Claude Help Center. Our step-by-step setup guide shows every stage, and the NetSuite AI integration service page describes how we scope it.
This is how a typical engagement is sequenced after the AI Action Plan. It is an illustrative plan, not a fixed commitment: the real timeline depends on your access approvals, how much of your team's time is available, and how many workflows the plan recommends.
| Window | Focus | What you have at the end |
|---|---|---|
| Days 1 to 30 | AI Action Plan, data boundary, first workflow chosen | Ranked workflow list, governance outline, signed-off data rules, one workflow specified in detail |
| Days 31 to 60 | Read-only pilot | Claude Cowork routines or a NetSuite AI Connector Service connection running read-only on one workflow, tested against a past period, with a named reviewer |
| Days 61 to 90 | Review, harden, extend | Pilot results reviewed with the controller, a decision on write access for that workflow, an access review schedule, and the second workflow scoped |
Illustrative sequencing. Your plan is agreed in writing after the AI Action Plan.
We agree the measure before the pilot starts, using numbers you already track. For a close-support workflow that might be the hours your team spends assembling the open-items list, or the number of days to a reviewed draft. For AP exception review it might be the share of exceptions with a drafted explanation ready for the reviewer.
We also measure the things that tell you whether to trust it: how often the reviewer changed the output, what kinds of errors appeared, and whether every request in the log maps to a named person. A pilot that saves time but cannot be reviewed is not finished.
We will not connect Claude with an administrator role, give an AI role posting authority on day one, or schedule a task that has never been reviewed manually. We will not claim partner status we do not hold: TFR Solutions is not an Anthropic partner and not an Oracle NetSuite partner. And we will not promise a percentage saving before we have seen your workflows.
An assessment of which finance workflows deserve Claude, a data boundary, role and permission design, setup of Claude Cowork or the NetSuite AI Connector Service, a reviewed read-only pilot, and a runbook your team can maintain. It starts with the AI Action Plan.
The AI Action Plan is $5,000 fixed fee, delivered over two weeks from kickoff. Implementation packages are scoped from what the plan finds and quoted in writing before work starts. Claude licences are bought directly from Anthropic and are separate from our fees.
No. Claude Cowork rollouts and the AI Action Plan do not require NetSuite. Most of our Claude work is with NetSuite teams because that is where our ERP depth is, and the connector setup only applies if you run NetSuite.
The connector can only do what the connected role allows, and the MCP Standard Tools SuiteApp includes tools that can create and update records. We do not grant posting permissions at the start. Write access is added per workflow, after a clean read-only run and controller approval, with a person approving each posting.
No. TFR Solutions is an independent consulting firm. We are not affiliated with Anthropic and we are not an Oracle NetSuite partner. We build on Claude because it fits finance work well, and we tell you when it does not.
A read-only pilot on one workflow is usually the goal of the second month in our illustrative 30/60/90 plan. The actual timing depends on access approvals and your team's availability, and is agreed in writing after the Action Plan.
That is a decision for your security and privacy owners, and we write it down during the Action Plan. Common exclusions are bank credentials, full payroll detail, and regulated personal data. Oracle states the NetSuite AI Connector Service has not been assessed for HIPAA compliance and should not be used with protected health information unless you have independently determined that use meets your obligations.
The AI Action Plan page describes the two-week assessment itself. This page covers the full engagement: the assessment, the implementation packages, our governance approach, and the 30/60/90 plan.
Tell us what is not working. We will scope it and put the quote in writing.
